The product is able to be applied with minimal disruption to residents and road users alike. The process allows the existing pavement materials to be recycled and treated with lime or cement and bitumen to increase the compressive strength and stability. Foamed Bitumen mixes can achieve stiffness comparable to Cement Treated Bases whilst remaining flexible like asphalt, to provide superior fatigue resistance. Due to the improved strength of this treated product the depth of pavement is reduced saving on cost and avoids expensive clashes with existing services.
With the continuing emphasis on green & sustainable processes, foamed bitumen stabilised pavements are the future of road building and rehabilitation.
The Foamed Bitumen base is also an excellent pavement repair material. The product can be designed to be stockpiled and used as required. The product can be stockpiled for several months and only needs to be brought to OMC to be placed and compacted. The product is a permanent repair and can be immediately open to traffic. It is certainly a cost effective alternate coldmix asphalt especially for large repairs.
General Enquires
RPQ own and operate 3 mobile Wirtgen KMA220 Plant Mixed Stabilisers. These machines have the advantage over in-situ stabilisers due to better mixing capability and tighter tolerances on stabilising additives. Virgin products can also be blended in where needed. The added ability to inspect the subgrade for failures and rectify any problems prior to placement of the stabilised product leads to superior, longer lasting pavements.
